I invited some friends over this past Tuesday night in honor of me getting older. I made my dad’s nachos, which were delicious despite my best attempts to ruin them.
My friend Eric told me his wife, who is a fantastic baker, would like to bake me a cake for my birthday. Well I am not one to deny someone the blessing of blessing me with a baked good. I let her bake me a cake. And after embarking on the delicious journey or Chocolate and Peanut Butter, I don’t regret that decision.

Kacey Torres is an angel and Eric Torres hit the jackpot for sure. Both are pictured above.
Along with the excitement of Kacey making me a cake and my friends coming over, I was surprised by Daniel and Sarah when they arrived. They had all of these sacks in tow. I asked, “What’s all this?” No real response from them of course. I did get them to tell me that it was a surprise, which was enough to let me know to let it be. I love surprises and I hate it when people try to ruin what makes them a surprise, i.e. not knowing the surprise. Here is an example of a genuine response to a surprise:

So I let them do as they wished. The fun continued with hanging out, eating, and laughing alot. Eric apparently doesn’t like it when people hang out in the kitchen, take note if you ever go to his house. We cut into the deliciousness of Kacey’s hard work and enjoyed every morsel. Just look at it:

While this was going on, apparently Daniel and Sarah were making Pizookie: a mix between the words pizza and cookie, thanks Mindy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BJ%27s_Restaurant_%26_Brewery
So if having an awesome cake baked for me wasn’t enough, I also received 2 Pizookie. This explains the congregation of people in my kitchen, near my stove. Daniel and Sarah were baking during the party. Also there was a camera that we thought was taking pictures of all of this, but it didn’t have a card in it apparently. Fail. To make up for this saddening news, I have photos of other people enjoying Pizookie:
Donnie and Emily came to the shindig with old man candy for me and a signed photo from Dash.

Mindy was there, and was the life of the party, per usual.

Will came too…in his V-neck.Tyler came after working super late. Brian Schultes came even though he thought I accidentally invited him. The Freemans, Jonathan and Brittany, stopped by and told some funny stories that had us all chuckling. Brittany did wear matching shoes this time. Alex also came and even played a little music later too. I talked with him about his trip to London this summer and dealing with my jealousy toward him.
What a way to celebrate 26. :D

Awesome Friends + Food + Baked Goods(Pizookie + Cake) = Great Party!
